April 16, 2012 (St. Louis, MO USA) – Stratum Nutrition announces the publication of an in vitro study evaluating Streptococcus salivarius K12 (probiotic branded as BLIS K12™) for its ability to modulate Candida albicans growth. The study entitled “Effect of Streptococcus salivarius K12 on the In Vitro Growth ofCandida albicans and its Protective Effect in an Oral Candidiasis Model” has been published online ahead of print in the journal Applied and Environmental Microbiology (http://aem.asm.org/content/78/7/2190).

The manuscript entitled “Safety evaluation of a natural eggshell membrane-derived product” has been published online ahead of print in the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology (http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.fct.2011.12.036). This research evaluated NEM’s safety via multiple in vitro and in vivo toxicological studies.
